Sorry for lack of response....found this reply in the spam box along with about 40 other replies from other people. There's odd things going on.
If it is any consolation, I finished a second container of twiglets. I had it about a week or maybe, a bit more. Would you believe it, this incarnation are designed as mini-twiglets. All t more…

Thanks for the encouragement, Menhir. I need it.
I am not so sure about using up more reserves in winter. Seems to me I eat more to keep me warm ! So keeping within calories budget is doubly difficult now onwards.
Now Twiglets is something I have not seen for years, still less sampled. But you spoiled it by mentioning more…

Just to enthuse you, in Winter you can lose weight a little easier, as the cold weather makes the body use up more of its reserves. It won't do to replace them with lots of sweeties though. However, you are allowed treats within your usual cal intake...not out of it. (Easier said than done).
To cheer you up, I had a wee pig out toda more…

So it was black bread, eh ? Sounds very East European. It was quite tasty but I will not be searching it out specifically in future.
You lost your appetite ? I could do with that problem !

Sounds like you had a taste of black bread in a strange form. Sounds like reducing on intake was not such a bad thing on this particular trip.
I know I lost a bit of avoirdupois last week as I lost my appetite; it's back now, and I need to watch quantities.

Thanks for the encouragement !
Alas, I have already been down as far as 170 lbs then lost my way and ballooned back up, though only regaining about 50% of previous loss; bad enough in itself, admittedly.
I persevere; I actually KNOW it makes a worthwhile difference !

Your grant sounds about the same as mine. It needed topping up with work when there was space and time in a busy study schedule to do some.
It is true then you've only got yourself to compliment for your seamless culinary transitions into your domestic bliss.

Nope, I was adjudged to be financially independent at 22 and got the meagre grant according to the student support rules of the day. £340 for the year if I remember correctly.

I re-read your 'mature student at 22' and smiled. I was a mature student at the age you got married. I thought the graduation to maturity as a student, then, and perhaps now, was/is 23 years old.
Landladies are fatal, especially if they like you. Then following the feeding experience on with a wife, well...... the landlady must hav more…

I would settle for 19 years old if granted a wish !
Rot set in on going to college as a 'mature student' at 22 and, living in lodgings rather than halls, I was well-fed ! So I ballooned from 10st to 11.5st by marriage at 26. The ballooning then continued ... So there is still a rather small person in here trying to get out !

It's good the wish is there.
Yep, unrealistic to think you'll be the Adonis shape of your youth. Coming the think of it, how youthful?
Two pairs of trousers in wardrobe, not unrealistic, shouldn't need to languish too long. They'll miss you.

Well, it's male vanity to some extent, I suppose. I would prefer to get back to the physical peak of my youth (totally unrealistic), or, failing that, a return to the physical level I had reached about a year ago, before the rot set in (much more realistic - achievable even). So an increase in muscle mass would not come amiss for that.

I like your analysis. Do you really want increase muscle mass?
My personal analysis: pink trousers which were not as comfortable as they should have been at the beginning of this week, are more comfortable by the end of this week. To stay that way, I must not buy things to ratchet up the avoirdupois.

Umm .. you got me there. Depends on one's belief system I suppose. Never actually tried the sacrifice tactic. Not sweeping great herds of them round here in NE Hants anyway. Plus I would be expected to clear up afterwards. No, on balance, prayer is much more neat and tidy and its efficacy will be reported in due course.

Only assisting decorators with door opening and cups of tea. Plus answering questions if they come up (and hoping I am answering correctly as proxy !). Decorating due to flood from above. Months to sort out.

Stir fry is what it says, I use a little veg oil and finish with a wee flourish of sesame oil for extra flavour. Forgot to defrost some chicken, so added chunks of lightly fried fish to the veggies, instead. The noodles were nice.

I know what has caused my wobbling. It is comforting to eat things you like or to nibble when you don't actually need to, just want to. Or, take today, amusing myself in a café whilst waiting for a call to say, after a lengthy test run, the repaired car is okay to get us home.

It's a struggle, innit ?
A right Jekyll and Hyde situation for much of the time, causing me to say on a daily basis, 'why on earth did I allow myself to eat that ?'. So, not much has changed here (except my weight and, oddly, my resolve) in the interim.

Hi,
I am going to have to join in here. I'm impressed with you. I do and don't at the moment.

Bonjour mon ami !
Aah, curry (last night) and spagbol (Friday night)! Etc.
It is a question of degree, of course, and constant resolve. Pretty good right now on both counts but one cannot duck the physiological process for long and hunger seeps in, insidiously sapping one's resolve. And the cupboards/fridge are far from more…

We can indeed do it. We have to; we have spoken. But I am philosophical and expect a halting success, with emphasis on success rather than halting. Hence the missing schedule.
Let us see how we get on and stay in contact.
