Quick summary of yesterday (Tuesday, 29 September)
Calories : 1944.
Exercise : 45 mins bike ride.
I am still exceeding my daily calories budget of 1700 kCals I set myself by some 10-15% which is irritating me but I only have myself - and possibly exercise level - to blame. Just as well it is not worse or it would not be worth bothering. Still, one pound a week weight loss is not bad really by my wobbly standards.
Bearing in mind that my weight-loss efforts are to improve health and increase longevity, I filled in one of those 'how long will you live?' questionnaires on the internet yesterday, just out of idle (morbid ?) curiosity. I did it as honestly as possible - nobody was looking ! Result : 89, with a range of 82-96.
This was a pleasant surprise as I had expected about 76 or so. So that would give me another 25 years. Excellent ! Or is it ? If I turn the clock back 25 years it would be 1984. The children were already with us growing up and, well, put like that it all seems uncomfortably recent. On the other hand, 89 probably does not thrill my pension provider either.
Face it Chris, you are now elderly ! Yes, I suppose you are correct. ![]()
Off out for a run this morning to kid myself otherwise.

Edit : Wednesday evening. Repeated questionnaire with weight of 170 lbs (ie 20 lighter than currently). Makes not one day of difference for longevity ! If this be correct, why the hell am I bothering, eh ? A right swizz. Also found that by increasing amount of sleep by one hour a day (night) it gives me about 3 months increased life span. Trouble is it means I have to spend about an extra year, in total, asleep to achieve this ! Is that how people die in their sleep, perhaps ... ?
