The title says it all really. And I have to do something about it.
I have tried before - with some temporary success - but, for various reasons, slid backwards into my old ways and actually became fatter, alas. By making this public perhaps I will be forced into sticking to the plan. That is my thinking right now. I realise I might regret it later.
Actually, I am 3 weeks into my new regime so here follows a bit of catching up on history.
On 28 April 2007 I weighed 216 lbs or call it 98 kgs. Given that I am 5ft 11in tall (180cm) that gave me a Body Mass Index (BMI) of about 30.2. This is clinically obese ! It is also a bad thing.
So, I now count calories and am exercising regularly. Specifically, I am averaging about 1700 calories (kCal) food intake a day and get out on my bike each morning (usually) for nearly an hour. This bike ride is not on metalled roads much but mostly on tracks through the woods near my house - so far from smooth and a bit of a trial when wet.
How has this worked out ?
Well, yesterday, being 19 May 2007, I was quite pleased with myself as my weight is now down to 207 lbs. This is a loss of 9 lbs in 3 weeks and an improved BMI of 29.0 and only very much overweight and no longer obese. Not fantastic but very satisfactory. Will I be able to maintain this regime I wonder ?
OK that is up to date and we will see what the future may bring ...
